Richard Hinde Photography is located in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia in Orange County. For those not familiar with Orange it is in a triangle formed by Richmond, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, Virginia.
Established in 1983, as “Photos by Hinde” I started working with the equestrian community in Virginia Beach on weekends at the local shows.
Upon my retirement from the US Navy in 1986 the love of photography became a full time business. At this time I also added videotaping to my list of services. From 1986 to 1992, most weekends were spent at equestrian events somewhere between Connecticut and North Carolina. I filled the time between horse shows photographing or videoing families, pets, weddings and youth sports.
In 1992 I had the opportunity to move to Cherry Grove Farm in Louisa, Virginia. The area was more centrally located to the mainstay of the business… equestrian events.
At this time there were more requests for videos and associated services, that the company was renamed to “Hinde Video Services & Photography”.
In 2019 I moved to Orange, Va. to a 5 acre property that is mostly wooded. This gives the opportunity for unlimited backgrounds during the spring, summer and fall.
At this time I changed the company name to "Richard Hinde Photography". We have come full circle as request for photography outweighs the videos. Video request still include the transfer of photos, slides and old movie film to DVD’s, wedding & event videos, plus converting foreign videos (PAL & SECAM) to a format that can be viewed here in the US (NTSC).
